Ambassador pick pulled

The Trump administration is reportedly planning to pull the nomination of Admiral Harry Harris as US ambassador to Australia, sending him to South Korea instead in a move expected to disappoint the Turnbull Government which had warmly welcomed the choice of Harris to the key post which has now been vacant for 18 months. The move is said to have been orchestrated by the incoming Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to fill the vacancy in South Korea at time of historic negotiations with North Korea.

Tigers top

Although Richmond are yet to recapture their stunning form of last September, the Tigers sit atop the table a month into their premiership defence after thrashing Melbourne 15.12 (102) to 8.8 (56) last night.
