Hello readers. A sixth boat of asylum seekers from Sri Lanka has been intercepted, and Aussies out of US Open.

A Suspected Illegal Entry Vessel (SIEV) was intercepted in waters to the west of Christmas Island near Cocos on August 7. The vessel left Sri Lanka illegally on July 25 before being intercepted by Australian authorities. 13 potential illegal immigrants were on board and have been returned to Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan boat surge: sixth asylum bid halted

Australian Border Force officials are facing a surge of people-smuggling activity from Sri Lanka, with six boats ­intercepted since May.
