Hunt backs My Health amid opt-out faults
The rollout of Australia’s electronic health record system has been plagued by delays and technical faults, as Health Minister Greg Hunt declared Australians need to stick with the system.
The government today opened a three-month opt-out window for My Health Record — ending October 1 — for people who do not want a record created for them.
Work right visas ‘out of control’
Labor leader Bill Shorten has called on the Turnbull government to address the “out-of-control” increase in people coming to Australia with visas which give them work rights.
Mr Shorten’s call came as former PM Tony Abbott claimed Labor was “in the grip of ethnic activists” and urged his Coalition colleagues to back calls to cut total migration numbers.
