Labor No senators oppose SSM amendments
Dean Smith’s same-sex marriage bill has gained more chance of passing through the Senate unchanged.
Three Labor senators who are opposed to same-sex marriage — Don Farrell, Chris Ketter and Helen Polly — have indicated they would vote against the passage of the Smith bill but would also oppose amendments to increase religious protections.

Switch to Malcolm ‘a disaster’
Still in politics, Veteran Queensland Liberal Senator Ian Macdonald has delivered a damning and frank assessment of Malcolm Turnbull’s leadership, arguing the 2015 switch from Tony Abbott was the beginning of a political “disaster.”
He said while voters knew exactly what Tony Abbott and John Howard stood for, the electorate doesn’t know what Mr Turnbull stands for.

A young British tourist has captured on video the terrifying moment her friend was attacked by a crocodile in far north Queensland.
The 24-year-old woman was walking along the water’s edge at Cape Tribulation when the small crocodile sprung out of the water and bit her thigh.
