‘Six months’: Abbott puts heat on PM

Tony Abbott has raised the stakes in the leadership debate, echoing Barnaby Joyce’s language on a deadline for the Prime Minister. The former PM also said Peter Dutton was on the right track with his proposal to cut immigration.

No action against Folau

Rugby Australia has taken no immediate action against Israel Folau over his anti-gay social media posts during crisis talks. Peter Van Onselen warns sponsors have a right to pull their dollars from anything he’s associated with.

Aussies sweep cycling gold

Kat Garfoot has taken out the women’s road time trial in style, adding to Cameron Meyer’s gold in the men’s earlier today.

Long-time Fleetwood Mac singer-guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has been replaced by Neil Finn of Crowded House and Mike Campbell of Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers.
