The local sharemarket jumped to a fresh 12-year closing high amid speculation of deeper RBA rate cuts and following a rally on Wall Street overnight, now 1 per cent off hitting an all-time high.

Melbourne mosque terror trio jailed

Two Victorian Sunni Muslim men found guilty of burning down a Shia mosque in an act of terrorism have been jailed for 22 years while a third has been jailed for 16 years.
