A PROMINENT Labor frontbencher could be axed by Victorian premier-elect Daniel Andrews as he prepares his first Cabinet.

Danielle Green was Labor’s shadow minister for the prevention of family violence who secured her marginal seat of Yan Yean despite stiff opposition from the Liberal Party.

But Ms Green is under threat of being dumped from the frontbench as the factions attempt to strike agreement on who should be sworn in as ministers.

Former planning spokesman Brian Tee appears to have lost his upper house seat and is expected to be replaced by the Left’s Jane Garrett.

However, this could depend on whether the Left wants to replace Mr Tee with an upper house MP. Ms Garrett is from the lower house.

There is speculation that agriculture spokeswoman Jacinta Allan will not continue in that position.

She is expected to hold a senior Cabinet position, regardless.

Mr Andrews has said he will announce his cabinet team once the voting picture is clearer later in the week.
