Mr Palmer The federal member for Fairfax has lodged papers in the Queensland Supreme Court saying the Queensland Premier’s claims the billionaire tried to “buy’’ the Newman government were totally false and damaged his integrity.

“These comments by Mr Newman can’t be allowed to go unchallenged,’’ he said. Mr Palmer, a serial litigant, previously sued former premier Anna Bligh and her treasurer Andrew Fraser for defamation over similar comments, leading to mediation and a settlement.
