Yuendumu: The Trial podcast covers cop’s outback murder trial
The Australian’s podcast Yuendumu: The Trial brings you daily updates from the Northern Territory murder trial of cop Zachary Rolfe for an outback shooting.
The Northern Territory’s most hotly anticipated court case in years is about to begin, when police officer Zachary Rolfe this morning goes on trial for the alleged murder of Indigenous teenager Kumanjayi Walker.
Constable Rolfe has pleaded not guilty to murder and backup charges of manslaughter and engaging in a violent act causing death.
This morning The Australian launches daily updates of our podcast Yuendumu: The Trial, which is available in our app and wherever you get your podcasts.
It will be a forensic analysis of each day’s action in court, presented by journalists Kristin Shorten and Matt Cunningham.
Mr Walker died in the troubled outback community of Yuendumu in 2019, after Mr Rolfe was sent in to arrest him as part of a team of tactical officers.
