Welcome to The Australian's rolling coverage of Israel's conflict with Hamas and Hezbollah as Iran launches an attack at the country.

Iran bombarded Israel with up to 200 rockets early this morning AEST, in a strike that risks further escalation in the Middle East, days after Israel killed the leader of Iran-backed Hezbollah and began a ground invasion of Lebanon. As the Israeli military warned it will strike back, Iran promised a 'crushing response' against any retaliation. While a large number of the missiles were intercepted, there were impacts in the central and southern regions, officials said. Israel said the military wasn’t aware of any casualties.
