Workout tribute to slain mum, children

A 30m handstand walk followed by a 30m walking lunge, capped off with six ring muscle-ups.

Repeat the process, with four ring muscle-ups. Then again, with three ring muscle-ups.

The six, four and three muscle-ups represent the ages of Hannah Clarke’s children Aaliyah, Laianah, and Trey, killed on Wednesday with their mother by their father, Rowan Baxter.

The simple routine was put forward on Thursday as a tribute to Ms Clarke by a client and close friend who regularly attended the couple’s gym in Capalaba, southeast of Brisbane.

“She fought hard for her muscle-ups, as she did her children; who passed aged 6, 4 and 3,” Dave Kramer said about the routine. “For those in the CrossFit community who want to honour Hannah, I put this workout together on her behalf, she would’ve loved it.”

For Ms Clarke and Baxter, from whom she split in November, physical exercise was their life. The couple co-owned Integr8 Fitness, a training centre that specialised in CrossFit, bodyweight training, and workouts for children and mothers with babies.

Timeline of tragedy: Hannah Clarke suffered for years

They shared joint ownership of the business, which opened in late 2014. Its website describes Baxter as a “recognised sportsman”, with Ms Clarke “an enthusiastic, passionate mother of three” who specialised in training children.

Ms Clarke’s bio portrays a woman who represented Queensland in trampoline sports and maintained her high level of physical fitness during her three pregnancies. The gym had a loyal clientele, including some of Ms Clarke’s family.
