A 67-year-old man unloading a shipping container suffered serious injuries when 300kg of glass fell on him.

The accident happened at 2.30pm on Wednesday in Greenacre, in Sydney’s southwest.

Paramedics treated the man for serious head and shoulder injuries, before taking him to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.

The man was in a stable condition on Wednesday night.

NSW Ambulance duty operations manager Caitlyn Murphy said paramedics had done well to respond so quickly and effectively.

“Paramedics are always prepared for the worst, particularly when attending worksite incidents like this,” she said.

“You never know what can go wrong at a worksite and how extensive the injuries will be.”

SafeWork NSW will be investigating the incident, but declined to comment further.
