Woman arrested after two allegedly stabbed in Sydney’s east

Police say the 41yo was taken to Maroubra Police Station where inquiries into an incident outside Eastgardens shopping centre are ongoing.

A 41-year-old woman has been arrested after two people were allegedly stabbed outside the Eastgardens shopping centre in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The alleged attack occurred on the shopping centre’s eastern side by the Bunnerong Rd bus interchange.

NSW police said a man and a woman were targeted.

“About 11.40am today (Saturday, March 22), emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing at a bus stop on Bunnerong Rd, Maroubra,” NSW Police said.

“Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics who are treating a man and woman for minor injuries.

“A 41-year-old woman was arrested on scene and taken to Maroubra Police Station, where inquiries are ongoing.

“The parties are not believed to be not known to each other.

“There is no ongoing threat to the community. No further information is available at this stage.”
