‘WAG’ Nadia Bartel busted at Melbourne powder party in breach of lockdown

A video appearing to show a high profile former wife of an AFL star snorting white powder at a party in breach of Melbourne’s lockdown is circulating on social media.

A high profile influencer says she‘s “embarrassed and remorseful” after video emerged of the former WAG snorting a white powder at an illegal party in Melbourne.

Nadia Bartel said she was “deeply sorry” and said she took full responsibility for her actions in an Instagram post to her more than 550,000 followers on Friday night.

“I have let you all down by my actions,” she said.
“I take full responsibility and I am committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure I make better choices in future.
“To my family and friends, my business partners and the public health workers trying to keep us all safe, I am embarrassed and remorseful.
“I am truly and deeply sorry. I hope I can earn your forgiveness and, in time, your trust.”

It is understood the video was accidentally livestreamed on Instagram by Ellie Pearson, who jointly owns spray tan business Aus Spray with Bartel and fellow WAG Bec Judd.

In the video, obtained by the Australian, Bartel woman leans over lines of powder on a plate with what appears to be a rolled up note. The sound of snorting and laughter can be heard.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said police were making inquiries into the video of the gathering and alleged illicit drug use.

A Health Department spokesman said they were liaising with Victoria Police. The video is believed to have been taken on Thursday night despite Melburnians under lockdown forbidden from visiting each other’s homes or being out after 9pm due to a curfew.

Bartel is the founder of successful fashion and lifestyle blog the Chronicles of Nadia and regularly posts sponsored content to her more than 550,000 followers.

Bartel split from former husband and Geelong great Jimmy Bartel in 2019. On Thursday the Brownlow medallist shared a photo of himself in bed with their two sons on Instagram.

The Australian has sought comment from Bartel and her management.
