A police informant will appear during a two-day court hearing for William Tyrrell’s foster mother when hundreds of pages of evidence will be examined.

The foster mother, who cannot be named, has been charged with giving false evidence or misleading evidence to the NSW Crime Commission.

The woman’s lawyer Sharon Ramsden told Downing Centre Local Court that her client maintained a plea of not guilty.

Prosecutor Amin Assaad said the hearing would likely take two-days due to the volume of evidence, which included about 500 pages of transcripts.

Audio of recordings of testimony given before the crime commission could also be played while the transcripts may be read to the court.

William was last seen playing outside his grandmother’s home in Kendall on the Mid North Coast in September 2014, the disappearance of the three-year-old attracting a $1 million award.

No charges have ever been laid in relation to the boy’s disappearance.

At the end of last year, police conducted a new search for William in three areas surrounding Kendall on the NSW Mid-North coast.

It is understood police were searching for William’s remains in the belief he was placed in the bush rather than buried. Officers were reportedly told any potential remains of William would be in the dam or creek only if they had naturally moved from their original location over time.

Officers spent about a month searching bushland, dams as well as two water tanks at the house where William was last seen.
