A 14-year-old was inside the vehicle as it crashed into two shoppers at Liverpool Westfield in the city’s west.
A display electric car in Sydney’s Liverpool Westfield shopping centre has crashed into a Myer storefront, injuring two, with a 14-year-old-boy inside.
Emergency services arrived on the scene, having been called to the centre at 12:30pm. A crime scene has been established by NSW Police.
The electric vehicle first accelerated forward, then reversed from its display into a Myer shopfront, injuring two people.
One was a man in his 50s who was treated for minor head injuries. The other, in his 30s, for chest injuries. Both checked in to Liverpool Hospital stable.
The teenager was inside the vehicle at the time, it is unclear whether he was able to drive it. He was questioned at the scene and has since left with a family member. Police stated they have further inquiries to make.
The incident will be investigated in conjunction with SafeWork NSW.
