Twin brothers went into court – and only one came out.

For the first time in Chris Dawson’s murder trial, he was joined at court by his identical twin brother Paul.

They planned to walk out together, but when Chris was found guilty of his wife Lyn’s murder he was immediately handcuffed by court security staff and taken away.

Photojournalist Liam Mendes captured this photo of a pensive Paul Dawson and his wife, Marilyn, on a Sydney tram after leaving court without Chris.

At that moment, Paul knew, and maybe was thinking about the fact that Chris was being taken into a prison van.
