Three teens and a child have been stopped by police in Grafton after taking a four-wheel-drive in Rockhampton in central Queensland and driving it more than 900km.
It is understood a 14-year-old boy, two 13-year-old boys, and a 10-year-old girl took off from Gracemere in a silver 2004 Nissan Patrol overnight.
Police were alerted after the family of one of the children found a note indicating he was leaving, taking fishing rods and cash.
The four-wheel drive was involved in the alleged stealing of petrol from a service station in Banana, about 115kms south from Gracemere, at 4.45am. It was last spotted near the NSW town of Glen Innes early this afternoon about 10 hours away from where they started.
