Teen injured in shark attack at popular beach

A teenage boy is being raced to hospital after being bitten on the arm at Cabarita Beach.

A teenager has been bitten by a shark in an attack on NSW’s north coast.

The boy is being flown to hospital after being bitten at Cabarita Beach in the Tweed region on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the popular beach just before 4pm.

NSW Ambulance said the teenage boy had been bitten on the arm and his injuries were described as serious.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been called in to airlift the boy to hospital.

It is not known what type of shark attacked the boy.
