Victoria Police have raided four properties in Sydney as part of the investigation into the deaths of four officers in a Melbourne freeway crash.

Warrants were executed on Tuesday morning at a business in the northwestern suburb of Riverstone, as well as two residential premises in nearby Kenthurst, a Victoria Police spokesman confirmed.

Another premise in the suburb of Londonderry, western Sydney was also raided, the Nine network reported.

Vision of the raids aired on the Nine network shows detectives at the head office of Connect Logistics in Riverstone, with officers removing phones, laptops and paperwork from the premises.

“Victoria Police is currently in NSW as part of their continued investigations into the fatal crash on the Eastern Freeway in Kew, on Wednesday 22 April, 2020,” the spokesman said.
“Detectives from the Heavy Vehicle Unit CIU, supported by NSW Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Crash investigators, executed four warrants this morning.”
The spokesman said the investigation continued and no arrests had been made.

The raids come a day after Constable Josh Prestney’s funeral.

He, along with Constable Glen Humphris, Senior Constable Kevin King and leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, were killed when a Connect Logistics-branded truck allegedly veered across several lanes of traffic, hitting their road stop at 100km/h.

Driver Mohinder Singh has been charged with culpable driving causing the officers’ deaths.

Victoria Police raided the homes of people associated with Connect Logistics in the Melbourne suburbs of Croydon and Frankston on April 27.

Porsche driver Richard Pusey, who allegedly fled the scene, has been charged with other offences, including reckless conduct endangering life and failing to render assistance.

NSW Police confirmed they were working with Victoria Police in the investigation.

“Traffic and Highway patrol command crash investigators are assisting officers from Victoria Police with the execution of search warrants in western Sydney,” a spokeswoman said.
