Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis welcome baby boy Jagger Mewis-Kerr
The Matildas star and her partner have welcomed their baby boy, with an outpouring of support from her fellow teammates.
Matildas captain Sam Kerr and her fiancée Kristie Mewis have announced the arrival of their first child, Jagger Mewis-Kerr.
In a joint-post on Instagram, they declared: “Our little man is here.”
Kerr’s Matilda teammates outpoured their support for the new baby boy, with Katrina Gorry commenting on the post, “Congrats you guys. Welcome to the fam, Jagger.”
Fellow player Emily van Egmond commented: “the cutest little man.”
”Awww congrats you two. He’s adorable,” Matildas veteran goalkeeper Lydia Williams said.
“Welcome to the Tillies fam, Jagger! Congratulations to mums Sam and Kristie on the arrival of their beautiful baby boy,” the official Matildas Instagram account wrote.
The exciting announcement follows the continued uncertainty of when the Matildas captain will run back onto the field with her teammates, following her ACL knee injury in January 2024.
Kerr, 31, and American soccer player Mewis, 34, revealed they were together during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, before getting engaged in 2023.
They later announced Mewis’ pregnancy on an Instagram post from November 18, 2024.
The post displayed several greyscale pictures, featuring Mewis’ swollen stomach alongside the power couple holding an ultrasound picture.
“Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025!”, they wrote in the joint-post.
Kerr originally hails from Western Australia.
