Russell Crowe’s property ‘absolutely smashed’ by bushfires
The Hollywood star has revealed the devastation left behind by the Liberation Trail fire in NSW.
Russell Crowe has returned home to Australia to inspect his palatial 320-hectare property in Nana Glen, west of Coffs Harbour, after a catastrophic bushfire came within metres of engulfing the Hollywood heavyweight’s home on November 14.
In a video posted on Twitter, Crowe reveals the devastation left behind by the Liberation Trail fire that has so far burnt through 182,000 hectares of land in NSW.
Sent this to a friend. Thought Iâd share with you too . Fires still burning , logs smoking everywhere you look.

Got halfway to where we were trying to get to, will try again in the morning when itâs cooler. pic.twitter.com/eCjR8QXXMm
“We’re up here, trying to get across to this ridge road, but we keep coming across things like that,” Crowe said as he panned the camera towards rows of charred trees.
“So I’ve got a few boys behind me chopping through with a chainsaw, but I don’t think we bought enough chainsaws.
“I can feel we’ve got a long way to get to where we are supposed to be.”
The Oscar winner then turns the camera around to show his 2.7 million followers the layers of ash still resting on the blackened earth.
“Look at this place, mate,” he said. “Absolutely f***ing smashed.”
Crowe has previously chronicled the aftermath of the fire on Twitter, sharing images of his sprawling property after the bushfire left parts of it “scorched.”
At the time, Crowe said he was “very lucky”, after the fire destroyed some buildings on the outskirts of his multimillion-dollar country estate.
Meanwhile, the bushfire burning near Nana Glen is currently at advice level, while one watch and act warning remains in place for the Myall Creek Road blaze in the state’s far north.
More than 65 fires were burning across NSW on Monday night, 25 of which were uncontained. 1300 firefighters remain in the field across NSW.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has put aside $48 million for bushfire recovery.
