Roberta Williams charged with kidnapping, assault
The widow of slain drug kingpin Carl Williams has been charged with kidnapping and assault.
Police have laid kidnapping and assault charges against Roberta Williams, the former wife of slain drug kingpin Carl Williams, and two other men following raids in Melbourne this morning.
Ms Williams, 50, is expected to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court this afternoon on charges of false imprisonment, threats to kill or inflict serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury and theft.
Two men, both aged 24, have been charged with the same offences. A third man, aged 27, remains in custody and has not been charged.
Their arrests followed that of another man over the same matter last month.
“The five arrests follow a report to police about an alleged serious assault in Collingwood on Tuesday 9 July,” a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
A man hired to produce a reality television show focused on Ms Williams and her daughter Dhakota had earlier this year alleged he had been kidnapped, attacked at a Collingwood building and was told at gunpoint to hand over thousands of dollars in cash.
Ms Williams was this morning seen being led out of home in handcuffs by Victoria Police.
Ms Williams swore at a television reporter as she was led into a police car, and did not answer questions about the allegations made by her former producer.

A police spokeswoman confirmed four people were arrested this morning.
“Victoria Police Fraud and Extortion Squad have executed (five) search warrants today in Craigieburn, Greensborough and Strathmore as part of an ongoing investigation,” the spokeswoman said.
“This investigation centres on allegations of false imprisonment and extortion with threats to kill.
“A 50-year-old Strathmore woman, two Greensborough men aged 24 and 27 and a 24-year-old Craigieburn man were arrested.”
Another man, a 36-year-old cameraman, was charged over the matter last month.
