Rideshare driver in Bondi drives down stairwell by mistake
A rideshare driver’s rating is likely to plummet after mistaking a Bondi stairwell for a driveway.
Workers arrived at a boutique mall in the heart of Sydney’s Bondi precinct this morning to find a $50,000 black Audi perched precariously on the edge of a stairwell after the driver apparently mistook the shopping complex’s entry for a driveway.
The ride share car, leapt the curb and entered the shopping centre at 6.30am before coming to rest wedged at the top of the stairwell outside the Harris Farm supermarket on Hall Street.
It was later removed by a tow truck.

A NSW Police spokesman said there were no other passengers in the car at the time of the incident and the matter would not be pursued.
The perching car was the talk of the suburb as locals made their way to work this morning, a staff member at the nearby chemist told The Daily Telegraph
“I’ve had plenty of customers ask about why it is there, and I have no idea,” she said.
The driver was not injured and escaped with a slightly bruised ego.
