Welcome to our rolling coverage of news from Canberra amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. 

The NSW regional areas of Port Macquarie and Muswellbrook will be plunged back into a week-long lockdown at 6pm tonight. Victoria has overtaken NSW with a new high of 867 new cases and four deaths. NSW reported 863 infections and seven deaths. A truck driver who was infectious in the community for a week is among four new Queensland cases.
