THE Victorian Liberal Party will preference against the Greens in another blow to the minor party’s fortunes.

Victorian Premier Denis Napthine today announced the party would follow the strategy it used with success at the 2010 election.

The Australian revealed the move earlier this month.

It will make it extremely difficult for the Greens to pick up a lower house seat.

Labor has said it will not be dealing with the Greens on preferences although it is not certain whether the Greens will be placed last.

Dr Napthine said: “The Liberal Party has decided to put the Greens on our how to vote cards.”

In extreme cases, the Liberal Party reserves the right for far right candidates to be placed last.

More to come.
