Sister blows lid on Gladys Berejiklian’s new relationship with Arthur Moses

For weeks just a rumour, Gladys Berejiklian’s sister Mary has revealed the NSW Premier is in a relationship with Arthur Moses SC.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is in a relationship with Arthur Moses SC, the high-profile barrister who represented her at a recent corruption inquiry.

For weeks a rumour among Sydney’s legal and political circles, the relationship was disclosed by Ms Berejiklian’s sister Mary in a social media post.

A spokeswoman for Ms Berejiklian said of the relationship: “They have recently begun spending private time together.

“The Premier will not discuss her private life.”

Mr Moses was Ms Berejiklian’s lawyer during the Independent Commission Against Corruption hearings into the activities of former Liberal MP Daryl Maguire.

It was during those hearings that Ms Berejiklian admitted to being in a secret “close personal” relationship with the disgraced Wagga Wagga MP who resigned after it was revealed he sought payment from a Chinese developer for his assistance with a deal.

At the time, Ms Berejiklian said it was “excruciating to talk about”.

“I can formally say to people I’ve given up on love,” Ms Berejiklian told The Daily Telegraph in November. “I’m just going to say I have always put my job first, ­rightly or wrongly, and that will now continue indefinitely.”

But on Instagram, Mary Berejiklian posted a photograph of her older sister and Mr Moses, and wrote: “After work Friday feels with these two … Glad and her boo.”

Mr Moses no longer represents Ms Berejiklian.

A former Law Council of Australia president, Mr Moses is currently representing former SAS soldier Ben Roberts-Smith in his defamation case against The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Canberra Times.
