North Shore Liberal MP Felicity Wilson won her preselection by one vote against Right winger Tim James tonight, giving Premier Gladys Berejiklian’s preferred candidate a narrow victory.

The result comes after Ms Berejiklian was embarrassed last week when her candidate for the upper house Damien Tudehope was beaten 60-58 by an “empty chair” in a Friday night preselection.

Ms Wilson won 101 to 100 with four informal.

Mr James indicated after the result that he may challenge it over “voting irregularities”.
