Premier Gladys Berejiklian is planning to ignore a coroner’s report recommending that pill testing occur at music festivals, with senior government sources confirming that the Premier is not for turning on the issue.

“Her position on this issue is well known and is not going to change,” a senior government source said. The Daily Telegraph reported this morning that coroner Harriet Grahame was set to recommend a dramatic reduction of police drug operations and pill testing at music festivals, following her inquiry into six music festival deaths.

The draft report, shown to police and health authorities also recommends an end to festival stripsearches in the wake of controversy over the treatment of young women at the festivals.
