Coronavirus Australia live news: Dubbo man first Indigenous Covid death as NSW records 1290 new cases, Victoria adds 73

He is also the first to die in regional NSW as the state's cases peak again and vaccinations hit 6.8m.

Welcome to live updates on Australia's continuing battle with the Covid-19 pandemic.

An Aboriginal man in his 50s is the first Indigenous Australian to die from Covid-19. It comes as NSW has records another daily high of 1290 locally acquired Covid-19 cases, after the state reached the 6.8 million jab mark on Sunday.

Victoria has added 73 new cases today and the ACT 12.
