Peter Dutton ‘kickstarts’ planning for new hospital in Perth’s north
Peter Dutton has pledged $1m to launch planning for a new hospital in Perth’s outer-north.
Peter Dutton has announced he will “kickstart the process” of a new hospital in the outermost northern suburbs of Perth, with a $1m investment to launch “a comprehensive business case”.
It follows Anthony Albanese also making a health announcement in Perth earlier this week, with a $200m to upgrade a hospital in the eastern suburb of Midland.
The Coalition leader made the announcement at the launch of the West Australian candidate in Pearce, Jan Norberger, on Wednesday night.
Pearce is held on a 7.7 per cent margin by Labor, after a swing towards the party of 14 per cent.
“We are building on the Coalition’s strong track record when it comes to health,” he said.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mr Dutton announced he would spend $600m to establish a national “agriculture and mining roads program” in what he described was a recognition of the contribution WA made to the economy.
