ALP vow to fund cardias services at children’s hospital
NSW Labor has vowed to restore paediatric cardiac services at the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
NSW Labor has vowed to restore paediatric cardiac services at the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick if elected, just weeks after senior doctors warned a “once-proud hospital was being run into the ground”.
Opposition Leader Michael Daley said Labor would fund three more full-time cardiologists, an independent cardiac director and an additional cardiothoracic surgeon for the hospital.
On January 24, doctors passed no-confidence motions in the hospital executive and board, saying they believed a major reduction in cardiac services was threatening the lives of children.
