The younger brother of a man accused of killing underworld figure Alen Moradian as he sat in a Porsche in Bondi Junction has been killed in a gang-related shooting on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to Stella Street, Fairfield Heights following reports of the shooting of 20-year-old Bol Deng just after 8:30am.

Dut Deng is currently on remand charged with the murder of Moradian, a Sydney underworld figure with links to a notorious bikie gang died in June last year after he was shot in an underground carpark. Moradian is believed to be part of an underworld group that rules over Sydney‘s drug market.

Relatives of the accused could be seen grieving in the street following the discovery of a Deng unresponsive on the footpath, and a burnt out dark grey Toyota Camry located 3km away in a nearby suburb.

NSW Police Superintendent Michael McLean said a “number of shots” had been fired from a vehicle into a residence, and that the shooting was believed to be targeted.

“Police attended the scene and what they found was a 20 year- old male who was lying on the ground,” NSW Police Superintendent Michael McLean said.

“Despite efforts of ambulance officers on scene, that male has now been pronounced deceased.

“The 20 year - old is known to us and believed to have resided at these premises,” he said.

“We are satisfied this appears to be a targeted shooting.

“A dark coloured sedan approached the premises from an inner-westerly direction, the shooting occurred and the vehicle drove off.”

The Daily Telegraph reported a distressed woman wrapped in a white towel was sitting on a concrete footpath near the scene of the shooting with her head in her hands.

Rohulla Rahimi, who lives near the scene also told the Daily Telegraph she was asleep on Tuesday afternoon when the car went up in flames outside his Guildford West home.

“I was asleep and my mum came and woke me up and said the car was on fire,” he said.

“I came out and saw it and called 000. My wife and kids are scared. We can’t live in this house anymore. I’ve got kids.”

At the time of Moradian’s death, he was described as a “major player” in the criminal underworld.

“He’s a major player and because he’s a major player in the organised crime network and also has links to the Comanchero OMCG, high level, he also had a big target on his back,” Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty said.
