A search is underway for two young fishermen missing with their boat in rough seas in Queensland’s Moreton Bay.

The men, aged 31 and 25, last contacted family by phone about 10.15pm Saturday to say they were on the way home from a fishing trip near the Port of Brisbane but haven’t been seen since.

Their car and boat trailer were still parked at the Whyte Island boat ramp.

Police released a photograph of their missing boat, a dark blue 3.3 metre aluminium tinnie with Queensland registration number OM209Q.

Helicopters, planes and boats were involved in the search throughout Sunday.

One of the men was named as Carwyn Massey, who on Saturday posted a video to Instagram with footage from the boat.
