Explosive texts reveal tech billionaire Richard White involved with Latham’s ex-lover
The former Labor leader suggested Richard White might want Nathalie Matthews to perform oral sex on him to ‘celebrate’ after he gained greater control of his company.
Former Labor leader Mark Latham told his ex-partner that billionaire Richard White owed her “big money” and urged her to “get the compo NDA (non-disclosure agreement)” after the Wisetech Global founder was accused by multiple women of exchanging business advice for sex.
The Australian can reveal new messages exchanged between Mr Latham and his former fiancee Nathalie Matthews showing the NSW Upper House member suggested Mr White would want Ms Matthews to perform oral sex on him to “celebrate” after WiseTech board members quit, leaving him with greater control on the company.
Mr Latham also asked Ms Matthews – who connected with Mr White on LinkedIn in 2023 after he offered her business advice – to “imagine a parliamentary inquiry” into Wisetech’s treatment of women, punctuating the message with a shocked face emoji.
Mr White is not accused of any wrongdoing. The Australian is not suggesting Ms Matthews and Mr White engaged in a sexual relationship.
Mr Latham’s lawyer, Zali Burrows, on Friday sought to serve subpoenas on Mr White and Ms Matthews for their communications, as part of his defence against a Domestic Violence Order (DVO) application Ms Matthews has made against Mr Latham.
Sources close to Ms Matthews believe the subpoena is an intimidation tactic to try get her to drop the DVO application.
The Australian this week revealed Ms Matthews, who owns an e-commerce global logistics firm, had lodged the application accusing Mr Latham of domestic abuse, including defecating on her during sex and driving at her in a car.
Mr Latham has admitted to sending sexually explicit messages to Ms Matthews while on the floor of parliament, but emphatically denies allegations included in the DVO application and claims they are “absolute rubbish”.
Exclusive messages obtained by The Australian show Mr Latham sent Ms Matthews a link of a news article in October detailing allegations from a second woman accusing Mr White of exchanging business advice for sex, saying: “The media is all over this guy now.”
“This pattern of grooming has wrecked him,” he wrote. “And long before his company too.”
Ms Matthews replied: “Wow.” “Omg it’s the same,” she said. “Its grooming. It is most likely a Warehouse of those sex toys.”
Mr Latham agreed.
“He owes you big money,” he wrote.
When a third woman made misconduct allegations against Mr White, Mr Latham messaged Ms Matthews saying: “Another woman comes forward in the Oz.”
“Same deal,” he wrote “That’s 5 now. He’s finished.”
On October 24 – the day Mr White stepped down as chief executive of Wisetech Global – Ms Matthews sent Mr Latham a screenshot of a message Mr White had sent her.
“Big day today,” Mr White had appeared to write. “Help,” Ms Matthews wrote to Mr Latham.
Mr Latham replied: “Worried you’re next.” “Get the compo NDA!!!” he added.
Ms Matthews replied saying there was “not really grounds”. “I could kill my professional career,” she wrote. “Remember I don’t have a secure job.”
Ms Matthews on February 16 sent Mr Latham another screenshot of messages Mr White had sent her in which Mr White appeared to ask if she were “free for some mentoring and other activities”.
“I am landing to a bit of a media frenzy – this is a pure extortion attemp (sic) on me but it reads very dably (sic),” Mr White appeared to write, according to the screenshot sent by Ms Matthews.
“I will check on the property and make sure the press are not staked out (I dont think this is likely). But thank you – I spent the last 2 days locked in legal and PR to try calm the leak by the lawyers of (Caroline) Hiederman (sic). Anyway I will be excited to be back – are you free for some mentoring and other activities.”
After sending the screenshot, Ms Matthews wrote: “He has a delusion! Nat wants quite a simple life.”
Four days later, Mr Latham suggested Mr White “coming back as CEO will make him a huge target”.
“Imagine a parliamentary inquiry into Wistech treatment of women,” he wrote. Ms Matthews replied: “Interview all the bitches no room big enough there.”
Then, on February 24, Mr Latham sent Ms Matthews a news article revealing six Wisetech board members had quit and left him with greater control of the company.
“He will want you to suck his c..k to celebrate,” Mr Latham wrote. “What an honour!!” He added a shocked face emoji.
Ms Matthews replied: “Did you read the ASX (forget the rest of the media – its (sic) a beat up that was bound to happen and not relevant to going forward.”
Mr Latham suggested Mr White would soon be “back as CEO” which would “increase share price”. “So buy 30k at 2pm today,” he wrote. “Bargain.”
When Ms Matthews questioned whether this was “insider trading”, Mr Latham replied: “Insider f..king.”
“Haha,” he wrote. “Not insider trading at all.”
Ms Matthews, Mr White and Mr Latham have been contacted for comment.
