Eleven year old girl dies in Queensland home

Police are investigating the death of an 11-year-old Queensland girl, with her mother also taken to hospital.

Police are investigating the death of an 11-year-old Queensland girl, with her mother also taken to hospital.

A brief police statement said the girl died at Redland Bay, southeast of Brisbane, from unknown causes on Thursday.

“A woman in her 40s was taken to the Redland Bay Hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” the statement said.

It is understood preliminary investigation indicate the girl’s death was not suspicious. Police believe she may have died of natural causes, with a report to be prepared for the coroner.
