A Darwin real estate agent can be revealed as the woman accused of allegedly attacking Northern Territory Chief Minister Natasha Fyles with a cream pancake on Sunday morning.

Suzi Milgate was arrested on Sunday evening, accused of attacking Ms Fyles. Multiple sources claim the 56-year-old is a vocal Covid-19 vaccination critic.

Ms Milgate has been charged with aggravated assault, and a source told The Australian Ms Fyles was left with a “slightly” bruised face.

The director of Milgate Real Estate, based in Larrakeyah, has been bailed to appear in a Darwin Local Court on October 10, 2023.

Sources say Ms Milgate requested a vaccine exemption for her husband, who required an operation, but was denied.

He then eventually had a Covid-19 vaccination but experienced side effects and was unable to undertake a medical operation.

It is understood she had previously contacted Ms Fyles, who also holds the portfolio of Health Minister, via email and that she had previously spoken at various Covid-19 anti-vaccination events in Darwin.

On Monday Ms Fyles condemned the attack, labelling it “unacceptable”.

“It was a fair whack to the face but I know what’s important to Territorians and that’s listening and getting back to work and I’m back at it today,” Ms Fyles said.

“We love the role we play in the Territory that we’re out and about and we’re part of the community. For me chatting to people at the markets, at Woolies, at sporting events is actually just as important as high-level meetings and briefs,” she said.

Ms Milgate dismissed the allegations to Sky News, questioning “how hard is fresh cream?”.

“It was out of frustration. She won’t talk to the people and address the real issues of Darwin.

The 56-year-old described her move as a “slight error” but again tried to underline the harmlessness of the object used in the alleged assault.

“It’s a minor error,” she said.

“I didn’t mean to cause her any harm whatsoever, it was just out of complete frustration, not being heard and ignored for three-and-a-half, nearly four years.

NT Police Commissioner Michael Murphy is considering ramping up protection for Ms Fyles and her cabinet, following the incident.

Commissioner Murphy said NT police were treating the incident seriously and were weighing up whether the threat level warranted additional protection for the Territory’s parliament.

“It’s about appreciating the threat and the risk assessments, and how that presents, and what sort of policing activities we put around people and make sure they’re safe,” Commissioner Murphy said
