Ms Higgins alleges she woke to find Mr Lehrmann raping her on the couch in the ministerial suite of then defence industry minister Linda Reynolds in the early hours of March 23 in 2019.

The pair had been drinking together with colleagues on March 22 in 2019, first at The Dock in Kingston and then at the 88mph club.

Mr Lehrmann and Ms Higgins shared an Uber to Parliament House.

Ms Higgins said Mr Lehrmann said he needed to pick up something while Mr Lehrmann has said at various times he needed to collect his keys, fetch documents, drink whiskey and that he worked on question time briefs.

The pair are captured on CCTV going through security before being let into the suite of Senator Reynolds.

Mr Lehrmann left Parliament House at about 2.30am while Ms Higgins was found in a state of undress on the couch in the ministerial office by a security guard at about 4.15am on March 23 in 2019.
