Beloved Melbourne DJ and OnlyFans star Courtney Mills has been remembered as a “bright shining star” and “free spirit” after she died following a traumatic fall in Bali.

Mills, 37, was staying at a hotel in Kuta when she fell from her balcony on Friday morning.

Hotel staff found Mills after she fell and alerted emergency services.

She was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and underwent several surgeries.

Despite the attempts to save her life, Mills died in hospital on Sunday with her family by her side.

Her sister Kiani Mills told The Herald Sun she was a “bright shining star”.

“The most beautiful thing we have been able to do for the last couple of days is sit and reminisce about the incredible life that she lived and how full her life was,” she said.

“She was full of adventure and never said no to an opportunity. She would drive hours and hours just to DJ for one hour.

“She would fly across the country to do the job she loved so passionately and to her it wasn’t a job, it was a life. Being behind those decks was her sense of freedom and we got to see her light up rooms.

“I hope she is proud of what she is done because we are proud of what she has done.”

Mills’ father Andrew Mills told The Herald Sun his daughter was a “free spirit”.

“From an early age, Courtney was a bit of a free spirit,” he said.

“She took on my love of music and was her own free being.

“I’ve always loved her spirit and I always will.”

Tributes for Mills flooded her social media after her death.

Her friend Jiayden Mills, described her as “the life of the party” and “the ray of sunshine in every room”.

“Always remembering the good times playing interstate shows and getting wild between gigs,” he said.

“I wish I could hold you and tell you how much you mean to me one last time,” Sara Jacqueline said.

“Thank you for blessing my life and being the most incredible best friend.”

Simon Lennox, previous owner of the Hotel Barkly in St Kilda remembered Ms Mills’ musical success.

“In the early days of her DJ journey she was one of the only females around and became very popular,” he said.

Mills was living with her parents in Frankston, in Melbourne’s southeast, before her death, after spending several years in Bali.

During her time in Bali, Ms Mills was hospitalised multiple times.

In April, 2023, scans showed bleeding on the right side of her brain after she fell down a flight of stairs.

A GoFundMe page was made to help raise money to cover medical costs said to have exceeded $3000.

A similar crowd-funding page was started after Ms Mills and a friend were in a motorbike crash that landed them both in hospital in 2018.

While Ms Mills was treated and discharged quite quickly, over $35,000 was raised for her friend’s surgery.
