Accused killer cop Beau Lamarre-Condon is on the verge of entering pleas relating to an alleged double murder, a court has been told.

Lawyers acting for Mr Lamarre-Condon, 29, appeared before Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday, with the court hearing that pleas were imminent.

Mr Lamarre-Condon has been charged with the murders of Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird and his boyfriend, Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies, at a Paddington share house in February.

The bodies of Mr Baird and Mr Davies were found inside surfboard bags buried on a remote property near Goulburn in the state’s southern tablelands following a one-week search.

Police allege Mr Lamarre-Condon killed the couple using a police firearm.

Police also allege the killings followed “predatory” behaviour by Mr Lamarre-Condon, who had been in a brief relationship with Mr Baird in the months before the killings.

He is facing two counts of DV-related murder and one count of break and enter.

Mr Lamarre-Condon was not required in court on Tuesday as his solicitor John Walford told the court that Mr Lamarre-Condon’s legal team had held a case conference with prosecutors.

Mr Walford said he was in the “last throes” of finalising instructions for a plea.

The court was told the matter would be committed when Mr Lamarre-Condon next appeared in court in November.

Asked by magistrate Theo Tsavdaridis if it would be committed for trial or sentence, Mr Walford simply said it would be for “committal” and did not elaborate.

Following his arrest, Mr Lamarre-Condon provided information to police that led to the discovery of the couple’s bodies.

He has since been dismissed from the NSW Police force.

Mr Lamarre-Condon will return to court on November 5.
