TO celebrate its 170th anniversary, Penfolds, which has been making fortified wines from its very beginning, has released a limited-edition 50-year-old rare tawny.
The tawny-style fortified is a blend of multiple vintages - including one from 1915 - to best reflect the company's house style.
Australian glass artist Nick Mount was commissioned to create the hand-blown bottle, which is limited to 330 individually numbered units.
The bottle's wooden stopper has been made from old aged-oak Penfolds barrels and the bottle is crowned by a pewter Penfolds crest and the label is made from leather.
