With the luxury of time at our fingertips, now is the perfect time to start planning for the future.
We’re immersing ourselves in bucket list destinations to pique pent-up wanderlust for that next cruise. From enjoying a gourmet lunch paired with fine wines in Provence, to exploring majestic glaciers in Alaska there’s an activity for everyone.
Below are three of our favourite regions to help you kick off your 2021 travel plans.
Alaska
Off the beaten track, Alaska is one for the adventurous traveller.
Hiking across glaciers, kayaking, panning for gold, encountering some of the world’s wildest animals … and there couldn’t be a better time for rediscovering the beauty of nature.
Our top pick? Regent Seven Seas Cruises is rolling out 2021 packages, and its luxurious Alaskan cruises are not to be missed. From July to September next year, Seven Seas Explorer, will sail her inaugural Alaska season.
Explorer is the perfect size for navigating destinations that are inaccessible to bigger ships — in Alaska, particularly, this adds a whole new dimension to your onshore discoveries.
In Ketchikan, a shore excursion takes you on a bear-spotting mission by air and land. After a scenic plane ride, you’ll hike through Tongass National Forest, where bears are often found feasting on wild salmon.
A bucket list trip if we ever saw one.
Northern Europe
If exploring Norway’s famous fjords, discovering historic Berlin or meeting Shetland ponies in the Scottish Isles, one of Regent’s many Northern European itineraries might make the perfect cruise next year.
Choose from free unlimited shore excursions to hundreds of incredible destinations, including the awe-inspiring Norwegian fjords or Berlin’s 18th-century neoclassical monument, Brandenburg Gate, there’s bound to be something that suits everyone.
Mediterranean
Who doesn’t savour a summer in Europe? Or winter, for that matter.
Regardless of the season, Europe’s charm never wanes for the travelling epicurean. From a cultural trip filled with exploration of Istanbul’s rich and vibrant spice markets to the astounding architecture in Spain, pick an adventure that suits your interests and go from there. And there’s plenty to do. Our pick of the bunch includes a Guggenheim Museum tour in Bilbao, wine-tasting in Provence and fishing in Porto, Portugal.
On the sea and off, there are enrichment activities for all types of travellers.
