Take a tour of the Copenhagen haunts of the TV series The Killing
THE Vesterbro red-light district feels strangely familiar.
THE Vesterbro red-light district feels strangely familiar. Our group of eight walkers are all fans of addictive TV series The Killing and we're on a guided tour that retraces the steps of fictional detective Sarah Lund as she solves the murder of student Nanna Birk Larsen in series one.
This is the neighbourhood in which the Birk Larsen family lived, and where key scenes were shot.
The two-hour tour costs DKK100 ($21); it's offered by Peter & Ping Literary Walks and is punctuated with juicy tidbits about the series and its stars.
Visser reveals Sofie Grabol, who plays Lund, didn't want her character to wear the boring, dark pants suits so typical of female TV cops; she was keen for a signature style, such as the Clint Eastwood poncho, but it was shelved when she kept getting her gun caught up in it ... and so the Sarah Lund chunky sweater was born.
