Oppo deals the new drug for selfie addicts with N1 Mini smartphone
OPPO’S N1 Mini smartphone has a big trick up its sleeve to separate it from the mid-range Android smartphone pack.
OPPO’S N1 Mini smartphone has a big trick up its sleeve to separate it from the mid-range Android smartphone pack.
Made for selfie addicts, the N1 Mini sports a 13 megapixel front- facing camera mounted on a flush fitting pod atop the camera that rotates around 195 degrees.
This means you can snap normally as you would through any front-facing smartphone camera but then flip the pod around for serious, 13 megapixel selfies or 4K video.
The flip around camera was an instant hit with my selfie-loving 17-year-old daughter, who also liked the built-in GIF animation generator.
Aside from the camera, the Ni Mini has decent grunt from a 1.6 GHz quad core Snapdragon processor with 2GB of system memory and 16GB of storage. There’s no micro SD card slot, which means that you are stuck with just the on-board storage.
That could be an irritant for those snapping lots of selfie stills and videos.
The screen is a good 5 inch, 1280 pixel by 720 pixel number, although it does seem more susceptible to finger prints than usual.
It runs ColorOS 1.4, which is based on Android 4.3.
The N1 Mini is wrapped up in a 148mm by 72mm by 9mm case with nicely rounded sides that make it easy to hold.
Weight is 151g.
