Michael Clarke caught out? More Noosa feud details emerge

Police have taken action as it’s revealed Michael Clarke and Jade Yarbrough were trying to patch up their rocky relationship when his ex interupted dinner, triggering fight.

Former Test cricketer Michael Clarke and girlfriend Jade Yarbrough were reportedly trying to patch up their rocky relationship on a Noosa getaway before text messages over dinner sent things spiralling into an ugly spat in a public park.

Queensland Police today revealed they have fined the pair for creating a public nuisance in Lions Park, on Noosaville’s Gympie Terrace, on January 10.

More details have emerged about the apparent trigger for the row, which saw Yarbrough slap Clarke while screaming allegations of infidelity at him. Clarke, who pulled his hamstring during the incident, was then filmed turning on friend and Today show host Karl Stefanovic, who is married to Yarbrough’s older sister Jasmine.

According to The Daily Telegraph, which obtained footage of the fracas, the fight erupted after Clarke’s former girlfriend, the fashion designer Pip Edwards, interrupted a quiet dinner at a Noosa waterfront restaurant by sending Yarbrough screenshots of recent text messages from the former Australian skipper.

Clarke and Edwards had reportedly briefly reunited while Clarke and Yarbrough were “on a break”. Photos of Yarbrough and Clarke holidaying in Noosa in early January allegedly prompted Edwards to send the messages.

Sources told The Daily Telegraph Edwards then called Jade, sparking the wild scenes that made international headlines.

Yarbrough, 30, accused Clarke of hooking up with Edwards on December 17, prompting the 41-year-old sportsman to repeatedly shout: “It’s not true, it’s not true.”

The newspaper reports Edwards, who was reportedly provoked by photos of the couple’s Noosa reunion, sent the evidence just as they sat down for dinner with Jasmine, Karl and the couple’s friend and celebrity accountant Anthony Bell.

Karl and Jasmine Stefanovic were caught up in the drama.

After the fight footage went public, Edwards said she had been “blatantly lied to.”

“This is not my circus,” Edwards, who dated Clarke for about 18 months, said in a statement earlier this week. “Yet again, Michael in his true nature has not taken responsibility for his actions and I was blatantly lied to.”

Jade has since gone to ground after intense backlash over the clash, and is said to be distraught and embarrassed by the incident. Queensland police opted not to pursue charges.

The Telegraph claims Clarke — who, in a statement, took “full responsibility” for the incident — is said to be upset at Yarbrough’s portrayal in the matter and is “devastated that he’s put her in this position”.
