In this year of unprecedented disruption, the Melbourne Cup Carnival will bring Australians together once again to watch 24 world-leading thoroughbreds thunder down the track on November 3.

For the 160th time, the Victoria Racing Club will host the big race and all the usual high-fashion and fun will continue.

While it won’t be on location at Flemington Racecourse, the VRC has created a “party-from-home” opportunity on its Cup Week™ site. Now more Australians than ever can get involved in style. From Racing to Entertaining, Fashion to Socialising — the new virtual HQ has it all at cupweek2020.com.au.

VRC Executive General Manager Caroline Ralphsmith said the site would allow 2020 everyone to achieve the classic race day experience from home.

“Cup Week 2020 will be like no other, but we’re thrilled to bring the magic of the event to everyone in Australia,” Ms Ralphsmith said.

The four greatest days on the Australian racing calendar

Kicking off with AAMI Victoria Derby Day on October 31, the Melbourne Cup Carnival is the best week of racing in Australia.

While many love the party and the prestige of Cup Week, for most, racing is more than a sport, it’s a passion. Racing lovers from around the globe keep a keen eye on the track and the world-class, heart-stopping Group 1 racing.

So when the Melbourne Cup Carnival begins, cupweek2020.com.au will be your one-stop digital destination, with everything you need to prepare for all four race days, including digital racebooks. And don’t forget to tune in to Network 10 and 10Play all week long to watch the action live from Flemington racecourse.

A high-end restaurant at home

Re-create the festival atmosphere of the Melbourne Cup Carnival with Chef-created home feasts.

Fashion will continue all week long and you can still get involved from wherever you are. There are four new Just For Fun categories to enter, including Mad Hatters, Cup Week Costumes, Family Ties and Lounge in Style. All you need to do is enter via your public Instagram with #cupweekfashion and the hashtag of the category, to go into the running to win some great prizes. Winners will be announced live on air via our broadcast partner Network 10 on Seppelt Wines Stakes Day, Saturday November 7.
