Inside Tiffany & Co’s Fifth Avenue flagship store
With the unveiling of its redesigned New York flagship, the jewellery house celebrates a “new era”.
After the most extensive redesign in its 83-year history, Tiffany & Co’s New York flagship store is set to open this month.
Spanning ten floors and over 10,000 square metres, the iconic store – now known as The Landmark – is not a jewellery store but a “cultural hub”, according to Tiffany & Co CEO Anthony Ledru.
“The reopening of the iconic Fifth Avenue Landmark is a major milestone for our House. Symbolic of a new era for Tiffany & Co., the Landmark is much more than a jewellery store — it is a cultural hub with an exquisite showcase of architecture and superior hospitality, as well as cutting-edge art and design,” he said.
Interior architect Peter Marino and OMA New York’s Shohei Shigematsu led the extensive redesign, which included the creation of three new storeys above the original seven-floor structure.
The brand, which was acquired by French conglomerate LVMH in 2021, first announced its plans to renovate the store in 2018.
A dramatic spiral staircase featuring a rock crystal balustrade inspired by Elsa Peretti, ‘windows’ displaying CGI imagery of the Manhattan skyline and a redesigned café helmed by Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud are among the new features of the reimagined space.
Every floor offers customers a unique experience; there’s a Breakfast At Tiffany’s inspired alcove on level five, gallery and exhibition spaces on level eight and nine, and its famed love and engagement destination on level three.
The building’s exterior has also been refurbished, while retaining its iconic Atlas sculpture.
To celebrate the reopening of its US flagship, the brand will debut a number of new designs including limited edition eyewear, watches and pieces for the home.
The store will open to the public on April 28.
