Trophy Homes: Sally Pearson’s quick sale
Champion hurdler Sally Pearson and her husband Kieran have sold their Gold Coast home in quick time.
It normally takes 74 days, according to CoreLogic, but Olympic champion hurdler Sally Pearson and husband Kieran have sold their Gold Coast home in quick time. Harcourts Pacific Pines agent Julian Porter sold the home in 31 days, a lot quicker than the 150 days it took in 2015. They’ve called the Helensvale acreage home since 2015 when they paid $905,000. They were asking $1.119 million, with the price undisclosed. The couple, who met at high school, have renovated the property, which features two residences and a swimming pool.
Tennis ace eyes Ivy league
London-based Aussie tennis legend Pat Cash visited Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast this week, checking out the latest waterfront development by friend and fellow tour champion Mark Kratzmann. The Kratzmann Group recently began construction of The Ivy Picnic Point, a luxury 37-unit complex on the banks of the Maroochy River. Cash, who regularly holidays at Noosa while in the country commentating on the Australian summer of tennis, said he was keen to see what was happening on the central Sunshine Coast, given recent infrastructure projects such as the new hospital, Mooloolaba Wharf and the Ocean Street upgrades. His real estate portfolio is centred in London, and his choice at The Ivy would be limited if he was interested as 27 of the 37 units have been sold, with completion expected late this year. Looking out to Channel and Goat islands, prices started from $499,000 in the project launched last year by Kratzmann and business partner Don Moffat.
Caller looks to punt beach pad
AFL commentator Dwayne Russell and wife Lisa have listed their Great Ocean Road property at Fairhaven. The renovated four-bedroom home with two living areas sits on 645sq m across the road from the beach. It has direct beach access through an underpass. Russell paid $895,000 for the property in 2006, the same year he was promoted to the Nine Network’s calling team for Friday night matches. He had been calling Sunday afternoon matches since 2002. He is now asking for offers between $3.4m and $3.6m through Great Ocean Properties agents Marty Maher and Mim Atkinson.
Designer digs snapped up
Naomi Triguboff Travers snappily sold her designer Toorak home during the week. She had swapped agents following a sales campaign last year, and its new agents, RT Edgar’s Oliver Booth and Abby Innes, had three desirous buyers after its first open last weekend. Travers, who is building a new home in South Yarra, filled the Toorak home with her cool contemporary art collection. Travers, who worked as an investment banker in New York in the 1990s, had paid $3.5m in 2008. The four-bedroom Nic Bochsler-designed home had a guide of $6.85m-$7.2m. It featured an extensive use of glass, as well as a terrace with a reflection pond.
