Port Adelaide-bound Tom Rockliff is selling his Brisbane home after he opted to leave the Brisbane Lions AFL team. Rockcliff, who was a free agent at the end of the season, paid $795,000 for the vacant 770sq m parcel in Morningside in 2015, just after he was made captain at the Lions. The home was completed in 2016 and features a bar area and elevated alfresco spaces that overlook the pool. It has five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Place Bulimba agent Shannon Harvey has set a November 11 auction. The 27-year-old forward played 154 games in his eight-year career at The Gabba.
Rolling out the welcome mat
Wellcom Group executive chairman Wayne Sidwell has listed his Toorak mansion. The home last traded at $7.1m in 2007. Designed by architect Robert Schulberg, the Stradbroke Road French-inspired home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a rooftop terrace with city views. There’s a five-car basement garage with gym and ground-level corporate facilities off the lobby that includes a home office, meeting room and separate work area. Kay & Burton South Yarra agents Gowan Stubbings and Julia de Campo are marketing the home. The Sidwells recently bought a hillside Michael Suttor-designed Point Piper home. Sidwell founded the printing company in Melbourne in 2000 and remains the largest shareholder. He is set to step down to non-executive chairman.
Swimming sisters bale out
World champion swimming sisters Bronte and Cate Campbell are selling their apartment in Bowen Hills that they lived in together, having both upgraded to their own homes. They are happy to cover their losses on the apartment that cost them $347,500 in 2013. It’s listed at $345,000 through Place New Farm agent Alex Rutherford. Set in the Skyline Terrace complex, the two-bedroom apartment with study nook and balcony is being marketed for investors or first-home buyers. Last year Bronte paid $895,000 for a Queenslander in Cooparoo and earlier this year Cate bought a Morningside home for $890,000. The sisters were the first Australian siblings on the same Olympic swimming team since the 1972 Olympics. Cate has won gold in the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, while Bronte, the younger of the two, won gold at Rio in 2016.
Harburgs aim for quick sale
A Brisbane investment property of the Harburg family has been listed. The Harburgs, headed by patriarch Peter Harburg, the Sydney-Hobart veteran and commercial property investor, paid $2m in 2007 for the 1990s-built home. The four-level home in Manly, west of Brisbane, takes in ocean views. It has five bedrooms, three bathrooms and a games room with wet bar. It had been leased at $1200 a week last year. Harburg owns maxi-yacht Black Jack, formerly owned by Point Piper-based luxury car dealer Neville Crichton. When skippering the boat during the 2015 race, Harburg broke his leg when thrown against the yacht hull in wild seas in Bass Strait.
