Fitness industry pioneer Tony de Leede is selling his redundant Mermaid Beach home. Set on Hedges Avenue — the so-called millionaire’s row — the contemporary four-level house last traded at $7.3 million in 2009. It has been a consistent rental for the Bondi Beach-based entrepreneur, who let it permanently to his friends. De Leede has tried to sell the house before, in 2011 and 2012. The four-bedroom house with gym and steam room features an entertaining area with a fireplace and a built-in barbecue that adjoins the swimming pool. Todd Curran at Curran Prestige has the listing. De Leede founded Fitness First in 1993.

Maze owners take new direction

The Brookfield Maze, at Myrrhee in central Victoria, has been listed for sale. Avid gardener Eryl Neil and husband Jeffrey began planting the maze in 2010 on the 2.3ha parcel. The four-bedroom homestead comes with 60-seat cafe and a two-bedroom guesthouse. The property is listed through Garry Nash & Co agent Garry Nash. He is asking for $1m-plus for the property. Since Eryl and Jeffrey opened the maze, which was designed to be somewhat of a challenge, in 2014, about 14,000 customers have tackled the course, which takes 20-30 minutes on average to complete.

Artist sells source of inspiration

Environmentalist painter Richard Weatherly and wife Jenny are selling Mirranawarra, their rustic Victorian estate. The 113ha Dunkeld property is on the edge of the Grampians, 280km west of Melbourne. Richard said a lot of his artistic work was motivated by his observations of the surroundings and local wildlife. It has been the principal residence of the couple for more than a decade after they paid $850,000 in 2005. They were only the second occupants of the three-bedroom homestead built with mudbricks, local timber and stonework in the early 1980s. There is also a two-bedroom cottage that Richard used as his studio for his painted works that specialise in birds. Ruralco Property Camperdown agent Peter Worden has a $1.5m price tag. Richard received an OAM in 2015 for his lifetime contribution to the visual arts, the environment and conservation.

Sub-penthouse on the Block

A South Melbourne sub-penthouse that was renovated on The Block Sky High series in 2013 is up for sale. It was designed by Sydneysiders Madi and Jarrod Coppock in the green-influenced refurbishment of a former 1960s motel that now comes with an 8-star rating. The four-bedroom apartment, with enclosed sandstone terrace, finished runner-up in the season finale, falling short of the prize by $4000 after scoring a $1,601,000 auction sale to Gabrielle Neal. John Holdsworth of Greg Hocking Holdsworth is marketing the four-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment for the October 14 auction with a price guide of $1.8m-$1.95m. He isn’t marketing it as a former Block product.
